On the occasion of the jubilee, a special place was given to an exhibition on the history of the Ljubljana Biennial of Graphic Arts. It showed its interdependence with the official cultural policy and the effects of the political Non-Aligned Movement in the field of art and culture in the former Yugoslavia, while at the same time shedding light on the position of the graphic medium and the Biennial in everyday life. It highlighted the institutional crises of the Biennial in the 1980s and 1990s, and the various attempts at its repositioning due to the changed geopolitical circumstances. The exhibition featured archival television footage, personal testimonies and memoirs, letters and other documents that reveal the Biennial’s journey through nearly six decades, with a focus on selected aspects from past exhibitions.

The exhibition The Biennial of Graphic Arts – Serving You Since 1955 was composed of works from the collections of MGLC Ljubljana, MSU+MG Ljubljana, MSU Belgrade, MSU Zagreb, RTV Slovenija and Adriatica Slovenica. The exhibition was accompanied by the interventions of Viktor Bernik, Interruption, Jasmina Cibic Building a Long Passageway, DDR (Damijan Kracina, Alenka Pirman and Jani Pirnat), Zora Stančič and a documentary film about Zoran Kržišnik by Matjaž Žbontar.
