The 12th International Biennial of Graphic Arts
The catalogue of the 12th International Biennial of Graphic Arts, which was on view at the Museum of Modern Art and included works by 447 artists from 57 countries. The works were evaluated by a seven-member international jury.
The main biennial exhibition, the personal retrospectives of the award-winners and the accompanying exhibitions were designed by Janez Bernik, Zoran Kržišnik and Sergej Pavlin. The personal retrospectives of the first three award-winners of the previous edition (Akira Matsumoto, Andrej Jemec, Ron B. Kitaj) and the exhibitions of 23 artists from the critic–artist section (Liliana Porter, Jock Clutterbuck, Wolfgang Stifter, Petar Tchouklev, Arthur Luiz Piza, Jean-Pierre Leroy, Achilles Droungas, Guido Strazza, Kosuke Kimura, Vjenceslav Richter, Pat Martin Bates, Luis Lopez-Loza, Karl-Georg Hirsch, Thomas Bayrle, Arne Bendik Sjur, Janusz Ducki, Edward Wasilewski, Antonio Costa Pinheiro, Petter Zennström, Luis A. Solari, Patrick Caulfield, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Jasper Johns) were mounted and the accompanying texts published in the catalogue.
The catalogue is lavishly illustrated in black and white and includes a few colour reproductions of the exhibited works. On the cover is a reproduction of a work by Akira Matsumoto. Jože Brumen designed the print matter and typographically edited the catalogue and the poster.
