Zorica Tasić, I'm Putting My Hand On My Mouth, 1987, colour intaglio, copper engraving and collage; recipient of the Young Artist Prize, 17th International Biennial of Graphic Arts, Ljubljana, 1987.

In the work of painter and printmaker Zorica Tasić, one can clearly see her orientation towards symbology and symbolism, but because her desire for uniqueness makes her inclined to variation, her work is constantly enriched and complemented. Her prints are sometimes so full that they seem to be on the verge of eruption, but they still come across as harmonious and somehow serene. Zorica Tasić’s artistic world is incredible. It seems invisible, which is why it again and again presents a discovery for the spectator. It is a world of metaphors, symbols, beauty, memory, conflict and nostalgia. The technique that suits Tasić most is intaglio printing and she often adds collage to her works.
