Moderna galerija, Ljubljana

Zoran Mušič, Dalmatian Land, 1959, colour aquatint; recipient of the Grand Prix d’Honneur, 14th International Biennial of Graphic Arts, Ljubljana, 1981.

The exhibition included twenty-five prints made between 1950 and 1985. Zoran Mušič was a Slovenian modernist painter and graphic artist who spent most of his life in Venice and Paris. His printmaking was based on drawing, for he was an excellent drawer. As far as motifs are concerned, he went through a few cycles and something similar holds for his formal development, while in his technique he remained devoted primarily to colour etching. He achieved world recognition with his We Are Not the Last cycle, in which he re-experienced scenes from the Dachau concentration camp.
