Robert Rauschenberg

12. 6.–15. 9. 1981

Moderna galerija, Ljubljana

Robert Rauschenberg, Poor Parts - Flower Bay, 1979, colour lithograph; recipient of the Grand Prix d’Honneur, 13th International Biennial of Graphic Arts, Ljubljana, 1979.

The exhibition included twenty prints made between 1977 and 1980. At the beginning of the 1980s, Robert Rauschenberg had already been one of the leading contemporary artists for more than twenty years. During that time, he had switched several art forms, but nevertheless remained true to himself and always modern. He was exceptionally laborious and believed in the spectator’s free judgement when it came to the perception of beauty and the meaning of an artwork.
