Peter Gidal received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 31st Biennial of Graphic Arts for exploration and surpassing the boundaries between literature and the visual arts, experimental cinema and photography, representation, technology, conservation and dissemination.

The exhibition Exhausted Meaning paid tribute to Gidal’s experimental film practice and documented his decades-long interest in the working processes that led to the final appearance of each film.
