Jurgen von Konow, Octopus, 1955, etching and aquatint; recipient of the International Jury Prize, 2nd International Exhibition of Graphic Arts, Ljubljana, 1957.

Jurgen von Konow was the most important Swedish graphic artist of his time. He developed a style in printmaking that fundamentally differed from the main current of the Swedish tradition, which tended to represent landscape. The exhibition included eighteen prints made using the intaglio printing techniques, mostly etchings and engravings, in his characteristic stylised figurative manner.
