The exhibition included fifteen works made between 1964 and 1965 using etching and mixed technique. James Guitet belonged to the second generation of the artists of lyrical abstraction. His work had a strong influence on the Parisian architectural scene in the mid-1950s. After his initial stage, characterised by geometrical abstraction, he quickly focused his explorations on the effects of materials. In printmaking, he combined classical etching with various materials to obtain different textures and depths.
