The exhibition included twelve colour lithographs made between 1951 and 1959. Ceri Richards was a Welsh modernist painter, graphic artist and maker of reliefs. When he received the award at the 3rd International Exhibition of Graphic Arts, his graphic oeuvre was not extensive, but was significant for the British graphic art production at the time. In his works, he combined music, poetry and painting. In printmaking, the equivalent of this is colour lithography.
