Artists’ books are an increasingly present form of expression both in Slovenia and elsewhere. The 28th Biennial of Graphic Arts exhibited them with a special event, the Artists’ Book Salon, which presented a selection from the international production of contemporary artists’ books by independent publishers and individual artists. The salon was conceived as a place to meet and exchange ideas on the making of artists’ books. It included a fair, where publishers sold their products, and lectures by international representatives, from publishers to artists, to theoreticians. Lectures were given by Darko Šimičić, Chto Delat (Dmitry Vilensky) from Russia, the artist group Bas/BENT from Turkey and Jan Voss from the online bookstore Boekie Woekie.

Fair exhibitors: Bas/BENT (Turkey), Eloisa Cartonera (Argentina), Chto Delat (Dmitry Vilensky; Russia), Jesper Fabricius (Space Poetry; Denmark), Maja Franković (Croatia), Tadej Pogačar (Zavod P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E., Slovenia), István Szirányi (Hungarian Artist’s Books Association), Škuc Gallery (Slovenia).

Coordinator: Breda Škrjanec.
