As part of the 31st Biennale of Graphic Arts Over you/you, Asad Raza transformed the illuminated promenade in the park designed by Jože Plečnik for his work There is no east or west, programming the lighting to flash in a specific sequence throughout the night. The piece, which recalls the flicker of lights on a distant shore, horizon or outline of a metropolis, also carries a somewhat ominous impression of a machine learning. Visible from many parts of the capital, the installation turned an iconic city vista into an animated nocturnal experience. To mark the 70th anniversary of the Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts, the artist has donated the work to the MGLC Collections.
